Having been a pig hunter since my dad used to carry me, it was a hobby I was born into rather than something I choose to do. Although I am not complaining about it at all. I do love pig hunting.

Over the years I/we have tried a lot of different brands of hunting chaps and been disappointed time and time again.  The reason we wear chaps in New Zealand to pig hunt a lot of the time is because pigs live in the thickest, prickliest scrub throughout our country.

The Wild Places Wild Game Pig hunting chaps that we have spent 4-5 years developing have had a lot of thought and input from a number of hunters throughout NZ.   With a few changes here and there along the way we believe the chaps we are now selling on our website are the best in New Zealand.  

Advantages are that they are like wearing normal pants, with a soft area behind the knee to make them easy to walk in, they are extremely comfortable. Chaps from other brands are often very stiff and hard on the legs to walk on, sucking energy from the hunter.  Not Wild Places Wild Games chaps though. You will honestly feel like you’re not wearing chaps.

With a spreader strap in between the two legs this stops the left and right legs from twisting around on you like other chaps do.

Full length zips so that you do not have to remove your boots to take them on and off.

Once we are finished hunting now, if our chaps are dirty then we just unzip them and throw them on the back of the Ute and keep the vehicle clean.

We believe these chaps have changed the way we hunt for the better and look forward to other hunters reaping the benefits as well……
